The Third Committee on Macroeconomic Policy, Poverty Reduction and Inclusive Development will be held from 1 to 3 December 2015. It is one of the eight committees that make up the subsidiary structure of the Commission. It is held every other year.

Expert Group Meeting on Macroeconomic Prospects, Policy Challenges and Sustainable Development in Asia-Pacific (Monday, 30 November)
The Expert Group Meeting will highlight the salient features of macroeconomic performance together with a discussion on the economic outlook and main challenges faced by the Asia-Pacific economies. It will also discuss the region’s medium-term development challenges, such as rising household and corporate debt, stagnant economy-wide productivity, and rapid urbanization.

Round Table on LDCs and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Thursday, 3 December)
The aim of this Panel is to discuss the development prospects of LDCs, with a special focus on the role of macroeconomic and financing policies along with rural development that could help them support their economic transformation strategies. These policy issues are critical in LDCs in Asia and the Pacific region for the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The session will draw on the experience and expertise of the Moderator and Panelists, as well as rely significantly on contributions from all Participants in order to achieve this objective.

High-level Policy Dialogue on the Strategic Regional Partnership for 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific (Thursday, 3 December)
The aim of this High-level dialogue is to promote a forward-looking macroeconomic framework and financing strategies that create enabling environment for strengthening planning processes at the national level to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with a view to enhance the strategic regional partnership. The panel members will comprise of participants from member States (Ministers of Planning and Finance, senior officials) and civil society organisations.
