The South-South Cooperation Connector was developed in line with the outcome of the third Asia-Pacific Director General Forum on SSC convened in November 2020 - at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic- which concluded that: "ESCAP [shall] propose concrete regional actions to facilitate SSC and also review regional and subregional mechanisms for such interactions."
The South-South Cooperation Connector aims to serve as a one-stop-shop tool to address the need for a regional platform that documents good practices, bridges the demand and supply gaps of technical cooperation and promotes networking and collaboration through dedicated communities of practice.
In a nutshell, its goal is to bridge the supply and demand gap for technical cooperation through South-South and triangular cooperation. The South-South Cooperation Connector seeks to achieve that through three main service lines: Connect, Engage, and Learn
