The fourth session of the Committee on Disaster Risk Reduction will be held from 27 to 29 October 2015 at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok, Thailand. The Committee is organized by the Information and Communications Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

As a subsidiary body of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the Committee on Disaster Risk Reduction is the formal intergovernmental legislative forum on disaster risk reduction. The Committee is charged with addressing the following issues: (a) policy options and strategies on multi-hazard disaster risk reduction and mitigation; (b) regional cooperation mechanisms for disaster risk management, including space and other technical support systems; and (c) multi-hazard assessment, preparedness, early warning and response to disaster risks.
