ESCAP, under the Joint-SDG Fund (2022-2023) and in collaboration with UNDP Maldives and national stakeholders, implemented a project to strengthen national and sub-national institutions' capacity to develop resilience against the impacts of natural and human-induced disasters by updating the hazard risk and vulnerability database as well as providing a web-based decision support system to access and utilize the data for Risk informed policy and action plan development.
In continuation of this project and as a complement toward providing more interactive options to use the portal, ESCAP has developed a new interactive tool that allows uploading maps on the portal and using them alongside the existing maps and data. This tool could enhance the potential uses of the portal for the stakeholders and allow a more sustainable approach. To further increase the capacity of stakeholders to use their maps and data alongside the existing maps on the Risk and Resilience Portal, this capacity-building session will demonstrate the recently developed tool to upload additional maps into the portal while providing the participants an opportunity to try the process themselves.
